i adore this check out this awesome olds recording cornet! it's pretty rare to have a recording cornet in the shop, as many of you know i have a serious love for these vintage instruments made by olds! the studio trumpet from 1962 is no four great trumpets from the olds line are played and compared here. such a great playing, classic trumpet! a monster trumpet from my personal collection, an olds super recording from 1941 42! this horn was completely brought back woah! what a fantastic trumpet this is! my house rule of "one in one out" is sometimes a total drag. here's an olds recording that just came in on consignment. one tool that's been incredibly useful to me has been the selfiesound, which i liked so much we're now selling it at acb! i'm pretty skeptical of most of the trumpet gadgets (the answer is always in the practice room) but the selfiesound is not a gimmick.
when not actuating the rotary valve the trigger functions as a fixed ring for the third valve slide, allowing you to tune low c# and d. the third valve plus the rotary valve is equivalent to the 4th valve of a traditional piccolo trumpet. the yamaha 9820 piccolo trumpet has an unusual 4th valve configuration that's very intuitive. shown in the photo, one mouthpiece, a lyre that fits into the bracket on the trumpet, a small amount of valve oil and case. all the valves work and the spit valves open and shut well. this trumpet is vintage and has very light cosmetic wear. Beautiful blessing artist trumpet serial number 14xxxx. this trumpet is in excellent working order for its age. date of the trumpet between june of 1968 june of 1969.
